Indie Guides New York City
The Indie Guides New York guide takes you out of the tourist traps and into the heart of the city. It’s a small island with a lot packed into a city block … and that’s just Manhattan. Here you’ll get a taste of the real New York- nostalgic movie houses, Brooklyn boutiques, contemporary art galleries, hidden speakeasies, record stores fit for crate digging and a thriving music scene on either side of the East River. The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s were right- “New York City really has it all” … and while the best places are the ones off the grid, they no longer have to be a secret.

The author
Kristyn Potter is a Digital Marketing Manager for an online record store by day, and Editor of the Brooklyn-based art and music blog Left Bank by night. She came to New York following a brief stint in London and a childhood in St. Louis, but very fervently considers New York her home. She spends her time attending art openings, seeing as many concerts as humanly possible, and searching The Strand and McNally Jackson for a good book sale. There are a few things she loves as much as New York (if that’s even possible): classic literature, french music, a good Brooklyn dance party, Argentine Malbec, and searching the internet for pictures of puppies.
